Westwood, Los Angeles
The Casita is a multi-room, multi-function, small architecture machine for Los Angeles living. A 1930s garage was converted to open up onto the residence’s main garden, expanding living space across the back of the property. The roof was re-structured to create height and space in the main room. A perimeter of bookshelves, storage cabinets, closets, a bar, a plastered bathroom and a wine room are concealed behind painted wood paneling. A new folding glass door system opens the space directly onto the garden.
