Peter Benoit has more than 20 years of experience in architecture and design.  Prior to founding Peter Benoit Architect, Inc., he worked at Melander Architects, Inc. in San Francisco, Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer Architects in New York City, Kallmann McKinnell & Wood Architects in Boston, and as a carpenter with John Pierce & Co. in Massachusetts.

Peter received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia, with a semester in Copenhagen at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad.  He received his Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, earning the Paul M. Braun Fellowship and AIA/AAF Scholarship, and participated in the University's first Interdisciplinary Transit Oriented Design Studio in Tianjin, China.

Peter was part-time faculty for seven years at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.  He taught design studio, thesis advising, perspective drawing and freehand drawing in both the undergraduate and graduate departments.  He has been a guest critic at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Southern California School of Architecture. Peter Benoit Architect, Inc. was an invited participant in the Los Angeles Department of City Planning PVP Urban Design Review Sessions and RE:CODE initiative at LA City Hall in 2017. 

Peter was born and raised in Concord, Massachusetts.  He travels extensively, enjoys backcountry hiking in the wilderness, golf, skiing, and observes the world through drawing, sketching, watercolor and photography.

Mina Nishio is a San Diego native with a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.  Mina is a Project Manager and manages all aspects of BIM and drawing set production in the studio.  She travels extensively, and loves her Jack Russell Terriers.


Carolina Rocha was born in Cordoba, Argentina, then moved with her family to Florida at thirteen. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2009, receiving a professional bachelors degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in 2013. Her professional approach challenges issues of context, and she aspires to create spaces that foster social interaction and collaboration.  

Carolina was a project designer for Michael W. Folonis Architects for six years, working on a range of building typologies and scales.

She enjoys meditation, adventures in nature, competitive weightlifting, and is deeply involved with nutritious eating and cooking as a part-time chef. 


Ando is a Shiba Inu, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.  He has been with the company since its founding.
